Chris McGowan is our Sr. Pastor and has been on staff for eight years. Chris is married to Denise; they have three children Michael, Hannah & Abbey. Chris is a gifted speaker and preacher and truly has a heart for reaching McPherson for Christ. You can contact Chris at chrism@calvarymc.com. 

Pastor of Worship Arts

James Bohnenblust, a junior at Central Christian College, is our Pastor of Worship Arts at Calvary Baptist Church while he is pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Music. James and his wife, Courtney, were  married on January 7^th, 2006. Courtney attends McPherson College and is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in English Education.  They have been attending Calvary since the summer of 2004.  James is a veteran guitarist and vocalist who loves contemporary worship music but also firmly believes in using all musical styles for the glory of God.  James says, “Music is supposed to grow and build upon itself.  Just because there is a ‘new style’ does not mean that the musical heritage of the church should be discarded, it simply means that we have a whole new style of music to draw from as well.”  James can be reached at jamesb@calvarymc.com. 

Youth Director

Brent Guthrie is the Youth Director at Calvary Baptist Church.  Calvary's Youth Group is open to students in grades 7th  through 12th  on Sunday nights at 6 p.m. They meet at the church located at 1200 East Avenue A. Brent can be reached at 755-3797 or you can email him at brentg@calvarymc.com
