Connecting With God

“Connecting With God”

Chris McGowan, Pastor • Sunday, April 28, 2002

I. THE THREE ___________________________ OF PRAYER

      A.  Prayer is a declaration of _________________________.

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.”                   - John 15:5-7

      B.  Prayer is an act of _________________________________ with someone who loves you.

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.”    - John 15:15-16

      C.  Prayer is an act of _______________________________ with the most powerful being in the universe.

“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”          - John 14:12

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”                     - John 14:13-14
