Meeting
people: sharing Christ and His love with
others
SMALL
GROUPS
What
is a small group?
A
small group is made up of members from
Calvary who come together to fellowship
and to learn more about God by digging
deeper into his word.
Purpose
The
small group ministry exists to provide
fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and
worship opportunities to every individual
within our church.
Advantages
of being in a small group...

the Bible better
-
Building
new & lasting friendships

Find
support during hard times

PRAYER
MINISTRY
Be
joyful in hope, patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer. ~Romans 12:12
What
does our prayer ministry do?
Our
Prayer Ministry exists to provide daily prayer over
all the needs of our church.
Calvary
Prayer Warriors
Calvary
has a team of people who daily pray for
the prayer requests of our church. If you put a prayer
need on your welcome card that is not just for the
pastors, our prayer team takes those and someone
prays for that need every day. They also send
encouraging notes to those who have prayer concerns,
letting them know that they are not alone.
1
Thessalonians 5: 16-18 "Be
joyful always; pray continually; give
thanks in all circumstances, for this is
God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
Prayer
is an essential part of Calvary. This is
one of the most powerful ministries in our church.
If you are interested in being a Calvary Prayer
Warrior contact the church office.

DRAMA
MINISTRY
The Drama Ministry
exists to be a refreshing encouragement,
inspiring those who hear the call of
Christ, and pushing them on in their
commitment of adding one more to the
Kingdom of Heaven.
We do this through
creative performances like...
-
Skits
-
Readings
-
Song
interpretations
-
Full-length
productions
If you feel God
directing you to this, we have a place for
you. Please contact our church office
at 241-4316.
1 Peter
4:10 “Each one should use whatever gift
he has received to serve
others, faithfully administering God's
grace in its various forms.”
WORSHIP
MINISTRY
What does a worship
team do?
As a worship team, we
work to lead the body of believers in
worshiping God and experiencing His
presence.
There are many facets
to this ministry including:
Psalm 100:2
“Worship the LORD with gladness; come
before him with joyful songs.”
If
you have musical talent please contact our
Pastor of Worship Arts, James
Bohnenblust.
USHERS
& GREETERS
Greeting
people on Sunday mornings may not seem
like that big of a deal on the surface,
but once you realize that first time
guests form an opinion about our church
within the first 5 minutes, you see how
vital it is.
These
folks are the “face” of Calvary
and are irreplaceable.
Mark
12:31 “ 'Love your neighbor as
yourself.' There is no commandment greater
than these." “
If
you have a friendly disposition and you
like making new friends, we need you on
the front lines on Sundays. E-mail Gary by
clicking the link Gary
Clifton or call him at 241-8551.

NURSERY
MINISTRY
Calvary
knows that if you want to meet the needs
of today’s family, then the first thing
you have to do is meet the needs of their
children, especially the little ones.
Our Childcare Ministry is
dedicated
to providing safe, state of the art
childcare for your babies and pre-schooler's.
If you love the little ones, we
need you!
CHILDREN'S
MINISTRY
The
goal of our Kids Ministry is to provide
classes and activities that help our kids
to grow up in the likeness of Christ. Our

YOUTH
MINISTRY
Running the bases with
today’s youth
The
Youth Ministry gives students from 7th
grade through 12th grade a place to get
connected in God’s family. It focuses on…bringing
non-believing students to Jesus,
discipling them to Christ like maturity,
and then training them for the ministry
that God has called them to.
What
do you do in the youth ministry program?
-
Youth
group on Wednesday Nights at 7 p.m.
-
Concerts,
lock-ins, Worlds of Fun
-
Many
more fun activities
We go out
of our way to teach students how exciting
life can be when they get up-close and
personal with God. If you have a heart for
teens this could be the ministry area for
you. For more information please
contact our Youth Director Brent Guthrie at 755-3797 or email him at brentg@calvarymc.com.
COLLEGE
HOST
FAMILIES
The purpose of this
ministry is to provide a link between church
families and the college students so
that the students can have a personal connection
to Calvary. As a host family, your main
commitment is...
-
To Pray regularly
for your "students"
-
To Encourage them
spiritually and academically
-
To let them know
that they are a special part of
Calvary
College students have
the opportunity to be hooked up with a
host family from the church who will
be there to their second family.
Sharing
the love of God in our neighbor- hoods and
in our church
HOSPITALITY
Serving your needs
whatever they may be…
The
Hospitality Ministry exists to act on
behalf of the church to let people know
that we care about them.
We send flower or gift
baskets to people in the hospital or who
have lost a loved one. This ministry is
also there to assist at other times when
it is needed.
This ranges from
organizing fellowships to meals during the
101-401 classes to arranging meals for
someone who’s having a tough time or who
has just gotten out of the hospital.
If you
like to cook, serve, organize or enjoy helping
people, this ministry is for you. Please call Denise McGowan
at 654-3424.
HELPING
HANDS MINISTRY
Although Helping Hands
is a recent ministry to Calvary, that has
not stopped it from having a tremendous
impact on the church and its congregation.
So far, the helping
hands ministry has helped to…
Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do,
whether in word or deed, do it all in the
name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God the Father through him.”
If
you feel God calling you to make a
difference in this ministry or have a need
that needs to be taken care of, please
contact the church office.
BUILDING
& GROUNDS MINISTRY
With the hands that God
has molded to be uniquely ours, the
building and grounds ministry seeks to
make improvements and to maintain the
church inside and out.
This is a great
opportunity for those who like to work
with their hands and do not mind getting
dirty sometimes.
Ephesians
6:7 “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you
were serving the Lord, not men”
Not
only is it an opportunity to make
improvements on the church, but also
through fun and fellowship, we can bond
with our friends and grow wondrously. Please
contact Dave Bohnenblust at 241-5608 or
email him at daveb@calvarymc.com
for
more information, or if you would like to
serve on this team.
TECHNICAL TEAM MINISTRY
When
the church hosts special events, such as
weddings, funerals, birthdays, and
more. We need people to serve the
Lord through helping to set-up the church
and work with setting up the
services.
This is something that
almost anyone can do and it has a huge impact on the
church as a whole. Our worship services wouldn’t
exist without these faithful men and women who work
behind the scenes to "set the stage". If
you are interested in helping in this
ministry, please contact our Pastor of
Worship Arts, James Bohnneblust at
241-1883 or email him at jamesb@calvarymc.com
CHURCH
CLEANING MINISTRY
God has given us a
wonderful church to worship Him.
Maintaining cleanliness in the church is
one way that we can praise God.
So, through keeping the
church clean, we can honor God.
This ministry involves a lot of “behind
the scenes” work keeping the church
looking clean on a weekly basis.
Also, during special events such as weddings,
funerals, and fun events for all
ages, we assist to make the process go
more smoothly. Please contact
Joyce
Thorburn for
more information at 241-2709.
